Billed as a fun-filled entertainer, Jackpot has a bevy of actors, and some of them have good share of screen presence, which is its major positive aspect. The movie starts with an intriguing story of a century-old inexhaustible vessel and the sequences are woven around it. The plot revolves around Akshaya and Maasha, two con women, who earns money with their tricks go after the vessel which is hidden in a gangster's home.
Jyotika, whose character is presented like that of a 'mass hero' in many scenes, easily fits into the role, while Revathy is equally convincing. The two of them appear in stylish costumes, dance for that mandatory intro song for mass heroes, utters punch lines and pull off some fight scenes, too. But the actor who shines in every single scene is Anandraj, who essays a dual role. Some of his combination scenes with Thangadurai and Kingsley are hilarious. Rajendran and Yogi Babu manage to entertain with their comedy, though the dialogues that mock the latter's appearance become repeated which tests patience after a point.
Though the story has nothing new to offer except the plot surrounding the vessel, the film manages to entertain, thanks to some of the comic scenes which are devoid of double-entendre. The background score, however, reminds us of music from a few other movies. The two songs do not add much value to the story but looks vibrant in screen. An unapologetically made fun film, this may appeal to those who love watching movies in this genre.
ஜோதிகாவும் ரேவதியும் சாதுரியமாக மற்றவர்களை ஏமாற்றி பணம் சம்பாதித்து வாழ்ந்து வருகிறார்கள். இவர்கள் இருவரும் ஒரு ஆணுக்கு நிகரான அனைத்து வேலைகளையும் செய்யும் திறன் படைத்தவர்கள். போலீசிடம் சிக்காமல் சாதுரியமாக ஏமாற்றி வரும் இவர்கள், திரை அரங்கில் ஏற்பட்ட பிரச்சனையின் போது போலீஸ் ஒருவரை தாக்குகிறார்கள்.
இதனால் சிக்கலில் மாட்டி இருவரும் சிறைக்கு செல்கிறார்கள். அங்கு சச்சுவை சந்திக்கிறார்கள். சச்சு மூலம் இவர்களுக்கு ஒரு ஜாக்பாட் தொடர்பான துப்பு கிடைக்கிறது. அது செல்வந்தர் ஆனந்த்ராஜ் வீட்டில் இருப்பது இவர்களுக்கு தெரிய வருகிறது. அந்த ஜாக்பாட் என்ன? ஆனந்த்ராஜூக்கு தெரியாமல் ஜாக்பாட்டை எடுத்தார்களா? இல்லையா? என்பதே மீதிக்கதை.
படம் முழுக்க வரும் ஜோதிகாவும், ரேவதியும் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் விட்டுக்கொடுக்காமல் போட்டி போட்டு நடித்துள்ளனர். நடிப்பு மற்றும் டான்சிற்கு பெயர்போன ஜோதிகா, இப்படத்தில் ஆக்ஷன் அவதாரம் எடுத்து, அதிலும் ஸ்கோர் செய்துள்ளார். ஒபனிங் சாங், சண்டை காட்சிகள், பஞ்ச் டயலாக் என ஆக்ஷன் ஹீரோயினாக மிளிர்கிறார் ஜோதிகா. ஒரு காலத்தில் ரஜினி, கமல் போன்ற டாப் ஹீரோக்கள் காதலித்த ரேவதியை, இந்த படத்தில் மொட்ட ராஜேந்திரன் காதலிக்கும் அளவுக்கு நிலைமை மாறிவிட்டது. ரேவதிக்கு முதுமை முகத்தில் தெரிந்தாலும், நடிப்பில் தெரியவில்லை.
செல்வந்தர், பெண் போலீஸ் என இரு வேடங்களில் நடித்துள்ள ஆனந்த்ராஜ், தனது நேர்த்தியான நடிப்பால் இரு கதாபாத்திரங்களுக்கும் உயிர் கொடுத்துள்ளார். அவர் நடித்துள்ள மானஸ்தன், மானஸ்தி என்ற இரு கதாபாத்திரங்களிலும் காமெடிக்கு பஞ்சம் வைக்கவில்லை. யோகிபாபு, மொட்ட ராஜேந்திரன், கோலமாவு கோகிலா பட புகழ் டோனி, மனோபாலா, தங்கதுரை என படத்தில் ஒரு காமெடி பட்டாளமே நடித்துள்ளது. குறிப்பாக தனது அழகை தொலைத்துவிட்டு தேடும் யோகிபாபு காமெடியில் முத்திரை பதித்துள்ளார்.
குலேபகாவலி படத்தை போன்று இப்படத்தையும் காமெடி படமாகவே எடுத்துள்ளார் கல்யாண். ஆக்ஷன் ஹீரோக்களுக்கு இணையான கதாபாத்திரத்தில் ஜோதிகாவை நடிக்க வைத்தது சிறப்பு. காமெடி படமாக இருந்தாலும் இதில் சமூகத்திற்கு தேவையான மெசேஜும் கொடுத்துள்ளார். திரைக்கதையில் சில இடங்களில் தொய்வு தெரிகிறது. விஷால் சந்திரசேகரின் பின்னணி இசை படத்திற்கு பலம் சேர்த்திருக்கிறது. ஆனந்தகுமாரின் ஒளிப்பதிவு கண்களுக்கு விருந்தாகவே அமைந்துள்ளது.
சூர்யாவின் 2டி எண்டர்டெயின்மெண்ட்டின் பிரம்மாண்டமான தயாரிப்பும் இப்படத்திற்கு கிடைத்த ஜாக்பாட் தான்.
