Saaho

Billed as India's biggest action entertainer, Saaho is all about the feud among a few members of world's biggest crime syndicate, based out of Waaji city, somewhere away from India. Some of the over ambitious and brutal men (and a woman) of the gang finish off Roy (Jackie Shroff), their leader, in order to obtain a secret black box through which they aspire to become billionaires.

Meanwhile, cops in India are after a smart thief (Neil Nitin Mukesh) who looted two lakh crore rupees. The team is headed by Ashok (Prabhas) and Amrita (Shraddha Kapoor). After thorough investigation, it's revealed that there's a link between the huge sum and Waaji city. The arrival of Vishwa (Arun Vijay), the son of Roy, makes the plot more intriguing as he sets out to find his father's murderer and the lost money in India.

A movie made on such a grand scale with numerous actors needs a gripping screenplay and convincing characterisations, and that's exactly what Saaho lacks. There is a hero and the mandatory heroine, and there are way too many villains that it becomes difficult to focus on these many character on screen. None of the antagonists leave a big impact, and this results in a lack of emotional connect with the protagonist.

Prabhas looks a little uneasy as the investigating cop in the initial scenes, but transforms as the character as the story progresses and excels in the action scenes. He, probably, is the sole saving grace. Shraddha delivers what's offered to her and plays her part decently. The placement of the songs are big let-down though they have been shot lavishly. The presence of several talented artistes does not help much. They all look different on screen, but the many characters are almost the same in their histrionics. The film also tests our patience after a point due its overlong duration. And it is largely dubbed in Tamil, leading to lip-sync issues.

The makers of Saaho reportedly spent a bomb to film the action scenes, but that's evident only in a few of them. A good number of shots are made in VFX — while some of them are of top-notch quality, there are some ambitious shots which appear below par. Saaho is an ambitious project which relies on technical aspects and its hero's larger-than-life image, and not on its script.
ராய் என்ற கூட்டமைப்பு நிறுவனத்தின் தலைவராக டீனு ஆனந்த் இருக்கிறார். இவருடைய மகன் சன்கி பாண்டே அடுத்தாக தலைவர் பொறுப்பை ஏற்க இருக்கும் நிலையில், அந்த குழுவில் இருக்கும் ஜாக்கி ஷெராப் தலைமை பொறுப்பை ஏற்று சிறப்பாக வழி நடத்தி வருகிறார்.

தனக்கு பிறகு தன்னுடைய மகன் தான் தலைமைக்கு வரவேண்டும் என்று நினைக்கும் ஜாக்கி ஷெராப், 20 ஆண்டு காலமாக பிரிந்து இருக்கும் தன் மகனை தேடி மும்பைக்கு வருகிறார். அங்கு ஜாக்கி ஷெராப் கொலை செய்யப்படுகிறார்.

அதே சமயம் நூதனமான முறையில் ஒரு திருட்டு நடக்கிறது. இந்த திருட்டை கண்டு பிடிக்க சிறப்பு போலீசாக பிரபாஸ் களமிறங்குகிறார். அப்போது, நீல் நிதின் முகேஷ் தான் இந்த திருட்டை செய்தது என்று கண்டுபிடிக்கிறார். ஒரு கட்டத்தில் அந்த திருட்டை செய்தது பிரபாஸ் என்று போலீசுக்கு தெரிய வருகிறது.

சாஹோ விமர்சனம்

இந்த திருட்டு, ராய் கூட்டமைப்பு வரை செல்கிறது. ராய் நிறுவனத்துக்கு சொந்தமான பல லட்சம் கோடி அளவில் உள்ள பணத்தை கைப்பற்ற முன்னாள் தலைவர் டீனு ஆனந்தின் மகனான சன்கி பாண்டேவும், ஜாக்கி ஷெராப்பின் மகனான அருண் விஜய்யும் முயற்சி செய்கிறார்கள்.

இறுதியில் அந்த பணத்தை யார் கைப்பற்றினார்கள்? பிரபாஸ் யார்? பிரபாஸ் திருட காரணம் என்ன? என்பதே படத்தின் மீதிக்கதை.

பாலிவுட்டில் வெளியான ‘தூம் 1’ மற்றும் ‘தூம் 2’ பட பாணியில் படம் உருவாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஆரம்பத்தில் அப்படி இருந்தாலும் இறுதியில் தமிழில் வெளியான ‘ராஜாதிராஜா’ படம் போல் கதை மாறுகிறது. தூம் படங்களில் பிரம்மாண்டமான முறையில் திருட்டு நடக்கும். அதுபோல், இந்த படத்திலும் பிரம்மாண்டமாக திருடுகிறார் பிரபாஸ்.

சாஹோ விமர்சனம்

வழக்கமான பிரபாஸை இப்படத்தில் பார்க்க முடியவில்லை. வழக்கமான பிரபாஸ் திரையில் தோன்றியிருந்தாலே அதிகமாக ரசித்திருக்கலாம். இறுதியில் மட்டுமே பிரபாஸின் நடிப்பை பார்க்க முடிகிறது. வாய்ப்பு கிடைத்த இடங்களில் ஸ்கோர் செய்திருக்கிறார் நடிகை ஸ்ரத்தா கபூர். படத்திற்கு பெரிய பலம் அருண் விஜய்யின் நடிப்பு. லுக், பாடி லான்ங்வேஜ் சிறப்பாக அமைந்திருக்கிறது. நீல் நிதின் முகேஷ், ஜாக்கி ஷெராப் ஆகியோர் திரைக்கதையின் ஓட்டத்திற்கு உதவி இருக்கிறார்கள்.

ஹாலிவுட், பாலிவுட் படங்களுக்கு நிகராக படத்தை இயக்கி இருக்கிறார் இயக்குனர் சுஜித் ரெட்டி. ஆனால், ஹாலிவுட், பாலிவுட் படங்களில் மொழி புரியவில்லை என்றாலும் கதை புரியும். இந்த படம் தமிழில் மொழி பெயர்க்கப்பட்டாலும் கதை புரியவில்லை. காட்சிகள் பார்ப்பதற்கும் சுவாரஸ்யம் இல்லை. திரையில் தோன்றும் பிரம்மாண்டம் பார்ப்பவர்களை கவரவில்லை. கிராபிக்ஸ் காட்சிகளும் பெரியதாக எடுபடவில்லை.

சாஹோ விமர்சனம்

தனிஷ்க் பக்‌ஷி, குரு ரன்துவா, பாட்ஷா, சங்கர் ஏசான் லாய் ஆகியோர் இசையில் அமைந்த பின்னணி இசை சிறப்பு. மதியின் ஒளிப்பதிவு ஓரளவிற்கு ரசிக்க முடிகிறது.

Even as early as about five minutes into Maaran, it’s hard to care. The craft seems to belong in a bad TV serial, and the dialogues and performances don't help either.   Kuthiraivaal Movie Review:  Manoj Leonel Jahson and Shyam Sunder’s directorial debut Kuthiraivaal brims with colours and striking imagery. This is apparent as early as its first scene, where its protagonist Saravanan alias Freud squirms in his bed, suspecting a bad omen. As some light fills his aesthetic apartment wrapped with vintage wall colours, his discomfort finally makes sense—for he has woken up with a horse’s tail!   H Vinoth's Valimai begins with a series of chain-snatching incidents and smuggling committed by masked men on bikes in Chennai. The public is up in arms against the police force, who are clueless. In an internal monologue, the police chief (Selva) wishes for a super cop to prevent such crimes. The action then cuts to Madurai, where a temple procession is underway.then we are introduced to ACP Arjun (Ajith Kumar), the film’s protagonist, whose introduction is intercut with scenes from the procession. Like a God who is held up high, we see this character rising up from the depths. In short, a whistle-worthy hero-introduction scene. We expect that Vinoth has done away with the mandatory fan service given his star's stature and will get around to making the film he wanted to make.
