Oollalla Oollalla

Story: Pandu (Nataraj) is an aspiring film director who studies engineering. Noorin (Noorin Shereef) is from the same college and falls in love with him for no reason. When Pandu gets lost in a forest and reaches a haunted mansion, how Trisha (Ankeeta Maharana) seduces him is what it's all about.

Review: It is really hard to categorise few films and Oollalla Oollala is one such film which will make you question your whole existence and not in a good way. The film is kicked off with an improbable scene which sees a man hitting well-built goons trice his size just to make it clear that he is the male lead. To make it all the more terrible, the female lead eggs him on to break their bones from the sidelines, as if it's even remotely possible. And just like most horror movies in existence, this one too involves a mansion haunted by a woman and a weird-looking human named Atiloka Sundari.

When Pandu goes into the mansion and begins making out with Trisha, it feels like someone shot their intimate moments on a spy-cam and released it for the world to see. The horribly written comedy track doesn't help matters either. And just in case you make past the interval in hope of things getting better in the second half, don't. Cringe-worthy songs and filthy dialogues, followed by a nonsensical ending makes one wonder why director Satya Prakash even bothered to make this film. It's 2020 already and it's heart-breaking to see filmmakers still coming up with such utter rubbish.

The actors aren't exactly superb either. It's really hard to guess what emotion Nataraj is trying to emote and Noorin and Ankeeta just...well the less said about them the better. The other actors are all just weirdly dressed to generate comedy, so it's hard to focus on their performances.

Films like Oollalla Oollalla are a disgrace to the art of filmmaking. While the makers might argue the film is made only for a certain section of audience, we wonder who would want to sit through this. If any aspiring film directors are reading this, please don't do this to yourself.

విలక్షణ నటుడిగా విలనిజం పండించిన సత్య ప్రకాశ్.. దర్శకుడిగా మారి ఊల్లాల ఊల్లాల చిత్రాన్ని తెరకెక్కించాడు. ఆయన తన కుమారుడు నటరాజ్‌ను తెలుగు తెరకు పరిచయం చేస్తూ.. తీసిన ఈ చిత్రం దర్శకుడిగా సత్య ప్రకాశ్‌కు, హీరోగా నటరాజ్‌కు ఏవిధంగా ఉపయోగపడింది? ఊల్లాల ఊల్లాల చిత్రం వీరిద్దరికి ఎలాంటి ఫలితాన్ని మిగిల్చింది? అన్నది ఓ సారి చూద్దాం.

కథ సినిమా దర్శకుడిగా మారాలనే కోరిక, డబ్బుపై వ్యామోహం ఉన్న నటరాజ్ (నటరాజ్)‌ను నూరిన్ (నూరీన్ షెరీఫ్) ప్రేమిస్తూ ఉంటుంది. అయితే అతను మాత్రం ఆమెను పట్టించుకోకుండా ఉన్నట్లే ఉంటాడు. మంచి దర్శకుడిగా పేరు తెచ్చేందుకు తపన పడుతూ ఉండే నటరాజ్ జీవితంలోకి త్రిష (అంకితా మహారాణా), అతిలోక సుందరి (కాలకేయ ప్రభాకర్) లాంటి విచిత్రమైన క్యారెక్టర్స్ వస్తుంటాయి.

కథలోని ట్విస్టులు.. నటరాజ్‌కు పండు అనే పాత్రలో తనను తాను ఊహించుకుంటాడు? త్రిష, పండు అనే పాత్రకు ఉన్న సంబంధం ఏమిటి? వీరంతా ఎందుకు మాయమతుంటారు? అసలు వారంతా మనుషుల్లా ఉండే ఆత్మలా.. ఆత్మ రూపంలో ఉన్న మనుషులా? అనే ప్రశ్నలకు సమాధానమే ఊల్లాల ఊల్లాల.

ఫస్టాఫ్ అనాలిసిస్.. నూరిన్‌ను రౌడీలు ఏడ్పించడం, నటరాజ్ వచ్చి కాపాడటం లాంటి పరమ రొటీన్ సీన్లతో సినిమాను ప్రారంభిస్తారు. సినిమా ప్రారంభమైన కొద్ది నిమిషాలకే ఎంత నాసిరకంగా తెరకెక్కించారో అర్థమవుతుంది. అర్థం పర్థం లేని సీన్లు, అతికించినట్టు సంబంధం లేకుండా ఉండే సన్నివేశాలతో ప్రథమార్థం అలా ముందుకు సాగుతూ ఉంటుంది. త్రిష పాత్ర ఎంటరైన తరువాత రొమాంటిక్ సీన్లతో తెరను హీటెక్కిస్తుంది. లెక్క లేనన్ని ముద్దు సీన్లతో ఇద్దరూ రెచ్చిపోతూ ఉంటారు. ఇది మినహా ఫస్టాఫ్‌లో కథ ముందుకు సాగదేమోనన్న ఫీలింగ్ కలుగుతుంది. జరిగేది నిజమో కాదోనన్న తికమకలోనే ప్రేక్షకుడు ఉండిపోతాడు.

సెకండాఫ్ అనాలిసిస్.. నటరాజ్‌కు కనిపించే పాత్రలు ఆత్మలా? మనుషులా? అన్న అనుమానంచ అతనితో పాటు ప్రేక్షకుడికి కూడా ఉంటుంది. ప్రథమార్థాన్ని చూసిన ప్రేక్షకుడికి ద్వితీయార్థంపైనా ఎలాంటి అంచనాలుండవేమో అనేట్టు ఉంటుంది. దానికి తగ్గట్టే సెకండాఫ్‌ను మరింత నిరాసక్తంగా మలిచినట్టు కనిపిస్తుంది. త్రిష, పండు, అతిలోక సుందరి అంటూ అవే క్యారెక్టర్ల చుట్టూ కథను తిప్పి తిప్పి ప్రేక్షకులకు సహనం కోల్పోయేట్టు చేసిన ఫీలింగ్ కలుగుతుంది. అన్ని క్యారెక్టర్లను చూపించి, ఏదో స్టోరీ ఉన్నట్లు సీన్లను క్రియేట్ చివరకు తుస్సుమనిపించిన భావన కలిగే అవకాశం ఉంది. మొత్తంగా ప్రేక్షకులను ఆకట్టుకోవడంలొ ద్వితీయార్థం కూడా విఫలమైనట్లు కనిపిస్తుంది.

నటీనటులు.. విలక్షణ నటుడిగా తెలుగు ప్రేక్షకులకు పరిచయమైన సత్య ప్రకాశ్ కుమారుడు హీరోగా ఎంట్రీ ఇస్తున్నాడంటే అందరికీ ఓ మోస్తరు అంచనాలుంటాయి. యాక్షన్ పరంగా సత్య ప్రకాశ్ రేంజ్‌లో ఉంటుందని అందరూ భావించడం సహజం. అయితే ఆ అంచనాలను అందుకోవడంలో నటరాజ్ కాస్త తడబడినట్టు కనిపిస్తుంది. అయితే డ్యాన్సుల్లో మాత్రం ఫర్వాలేదనిపించాడు. ఇక నూరీన్ కనిపించింది కొద్దిసేపే అయినా.. నటనతో ఆకట్టుకుంది. అయితే మేకప్ విషయంలో కాస్త జాగ్రత్త పడితే బాగుండేదేమోనన్న ఫీలింగ్ కలుగుతుంది. త్రిష పాత్రలో నటించిన అంకితా స్కిన్ షోకే పరితమైన భావన కలుగుతుంది. కేవలం రొమాంటిక్ సన్నివేశాలను చేయించడానికే ఆమెను తీసుకున్నారేమోనని అనిపిస్తుంది. అతిలోక సుందరిగా కనిపించిన కాలకేయ ప్రభాకర్ తన మేకప్‌తో ప్రేక్షకులకు చిరాకు పుట్టించినట్టు అనిపిస్తుంది. మిగతా పాత్రల్లో అందరూ తమ పరిధి మేరకు నటించారు.

దర్శకుడి పనితీరు.. విభిన్న భాషల్లో దాదాపు 500 చిత్రాలకు పైగా చిత్రాల్లో నటించిన సత్య ప్రకాశ్‌.. దర్శకుడిగా మొదటి అడుగులో తడబడినట్టు కనిపిస్తుంది. ఏ ఒక్కరి పాత్ర నుంచి ఎమోషన్‌ను పండించలేకపోయాడనే ఫీలింగ్ కలుగుతుంది. ఊల్లాల ఊల్లాల చిత్రంలోని పాత్రలతో ప్రేక్షకులను కనెక్ట్ చేయడంలో దర్శకుడు విఫలమైనట్టు కనిపిస్తుంది.

సాంకేతిక నిపుణుల పనితీరు.. ఈ చిత్రానికి సంగీతం, సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ, నేపథ్య సంగీతం, ఎడిటింగ్ ఇలా ఏ ఒక్కటి కూడా బలంగా మారలేకపోయింది. సంగీతం, నేపథ్య సంగీతం మరింత నాసిరకంగా ఉన్నట్టు కనిపిస్తుంది. తెరపై సినిమాను అందంగా చూపించడంలో సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ విభాగం విఫలమైంది. ఎడిటింగ్ విభాగం ఈ చిత్రాన్ని అతుకుల బొంతగా మార్చేసినట్టు అనిపిస్తుంది. ఓ ఫ్లో అంటూ లేకుండా సన్నివేశాలను అతికించిన ఫీలింగ్ కలుగుతుంది. నిర్మాణ విలువలు సినిమా స్థాయికి తగ్గట్టున్నాయి.

ఫైనల్‌గా.. రొటీన్ సీన్స్‌తో తెరకెక్కించిన ఊల్లాల ఊల్లాల కథ, కథనాలను కూడా అంతగా పట్టించుకోలేదన్న ఫీలింగ్ కలుగుతుంది. రొమాంటిక్ సీన్లతో హీటెక్కించిన ఊల్లాల ఊల్లాల చిత్ర విజయం.. బీ, సీ సెంటర్లలోని ప్రేక్షకాదరణపై ఉంటుంది

  Kuthiraivaal Movie Review:  Manoj Leonel Jahson and Shyam Sunder’s directorial debut Kuthiraivaal brims with colours and striking imagery. This is apparent as early as its first scene, where its protagonist Saravanan alias Freud squirms in his bed, suspecting a bad omen. Maaran

Even as early as about five minutes into Maaran, it’s hard to care. The craft seems to belong in a bad TV serial, and the dialogues and performances don't help either. During these opening minutes, you get journalist Sathyamoorthy (Ramki) rambling on about publishing the ‘truth’, while it gets established that his wife is pregnant and ready to deliver ANY SECOND. A pregnant wife on the cusp of delivery in our 'commercial' cinema means that the bad men with sickles are in the vicinity and ready to pounce. Sometimes, it almost feels like they wait around for women to get pregnant, so they can strike. When the expected happens—as it does throughout this cliché-ridden film—you feel no shock. The real shock is when you realise that the director credits belong to the filmmaker who gave us Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru, that the film stars Dhanush, from whom we have come to expect better, much better.
