‘Ramante Edenthottam’ is a romantic comedy written and directed by Ranjith Sankar starring Kunchacko Boban in the lead role. Kunchacko Boban plays the title character Ram Menon aka Raman, a 40 year old man. Raman owns a resort in 500 acres of land. This is his edenthottam. The resort has only limited facilities; without mobile range and internet facilities. A girl from a metro city reaches there; a special relationship develops between Raman and this girl and the movie is all about this mature relationship. Anu Sithara is the heroine. Joju George, Ramesh Pisharody, Aju Varghese, and Muthumani play significant roles. Bijibal is the music director. The camera is handled by Madhu Neelakantan. ‘Ramante Edenthottam’ is produced by Ranjith Sankar under the banner of Dreams N Beyond. 

Like all films that depict leftist ideology, the red flag and its fluttering rhythm rekindle the nostalgia of revolution in "Sakhavu". The film is a reminder as well as a wake-up call to alter the mindsets of those comrades, who consider politics as an easy platform to gain money and power. Director Sidhartha Siva's intention is good but sadly, he lets you down in its execution. The award-winning director quite often becomes preachy, and there's little effort from his part to make the film interesting. George Williams' visuals serve a good purpose for the film especially in recreating the old period. But the filmmaker can't make the most of it thanks to a half-baked script. After Tovino Thomas’ Oru Mexican Aparatha, Nivin Pauly’s Sakhavu, Dulquer Salmaan’s Comrade in America (CIA) romanticises Kerala’s Communism. The title of the film draws inspiration from Che Guevara’s life story. Born in Argentina, he led the revolution in Cuba. Che was captured and killed in an operation led by America’s top intelligence agency, CIA. And the director’s revolutionary vision stops at naming the film. Writer Shibin Francis has not offered an intelligent and engaging war of ideologies between Communism and Capitalism as most of the audience would have assumed based on the first look and teaser of the film. The trailer had aroused a lot of curiosity as to how Ranjith would mould demonitization issue into a story. But as the movie rolls into its second half, we realise it has hardly got anything to do with that issue. In 'Puthanpanam' we can find a mishmash of familiar movies like 'Big B' or 'Loham'. And as the movie ends it fails to meet the expectations. 'Puthanpanam' has too many things working against it. A thin plot that meanders, a cast underutilized, a gun story that is too stretched and Ranjith not at his best. For non-Kasargode people, the dialect may sound fine and we would applaud Mammootty's efforts. But ask anybody from Kasargode and they will frown. The first half does talk about demonitization. Mammootty plays a don like character with illegal businesses. The money roll back affects him because of some people who cross him. Finally got a chance to catch up with the most awaited movie of the year, in fact, for the past 2 years. While the first part gave away the possible backstory of the movie, there were so many intriguing questions like "Why Kattappa killed Baahubali" and "How Baahubali was ousted from the empire".  From a plot perspective, the hooks for second part had already been laid firmly by director Rajamouli in the first one. To top it all, the Baahubali franchise has "grandeur" as the selling point. So people were kept on the wait for the sort of grandeur that was to be unleashed with cutting edge CG and animation. The conclusion, as mentioned before, starts from Kattappa narrating the times he spent with Baahubali Senior, how he was ousted from the empire and ultimately gets slain by Kattappa himself.
